[--------------------------------------------------------HELP!]
[ Main Menu Commands ]
1) Enter DOS Commands
Calls up the Mini Dos Menu
2) View ZIP File(s)
Allows the remote or local user to VIEW .ZIP files. You
MUST include the FULL path and filename (Sample:
C:\WC30\UPLOADS\REMOTE5C.ZIP) This feature requires
PKUNZIP to be in your path.
3) Upload File(s)
This options speaks for itself. You MUST have DSZ
(com/exe) in your path for this to work making sure that
the ZUP.BAT file is in the Remote Control Directory.
4) Create a Display File
Make Sure that the FILES.DAT file has been edited to fit
your needs. You have up to 10 choices for this file and
you can use any or all 10, but there must be 10 lines in
the files.dat file even if 9 are blank lines. The lines
MUSt be there.
5) Download Files
This feature will allow the remote sysop to download up
to 3 files at a time ( Zbatch), again the FULL path must
be included. ZDOWN.BAT must be in the Remote Control
Directory.
6) View Text File(s)
Allows the viewing of TEXT files, as well as ANSI
screens. To abort viewing, simply hit the space bar.
Again, the FULL path must be included.
7) Help
Display the Help.TXT file to the user. It is best to
give a copy of this file to the user as it makes life a
little easier.
8) Edit A Display File
This feature ( when working ) will allow you to EDIT any
of the display files created with RC. This feature
is still under construction.
9) Quit
This option returns the user back to the BBS
[ DOS menu Options ]
1) Display Directory
Allows the viewing of a directory. The FULL path must
be included.
2) Copy Files
Allows you to COPY files from Remote (default Upload
dir) to whatever directory you want. Basic use is for
doors. Let's say you upload a new DOOR program, and
want to install it from remote. Using remote control
is going to be the easiest way to do it without
trouble.
3) Rename a File
The Name says it all.
4) Delete File(s)
This feature should not be taken litely as it could
cause trouble for the BBS. Be careful whenever using
this feature. The deleted files CANNOT be UNDELETED by
DOS or any other program! ^^^^^^ ^^ ^^^^^^^^^
5) TYPE a File
The same as the View a Text file from the Main Menu.
6) MOVE File(s)
Allows you to MOVE files from one directory to
another, which DELETES the ORIGINAL FILES.
^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^
7) Create Directory(s)
Allows the creatation of directories for installing
doors etc.
8) TREE
I installed this feature to allow the remote sysop to
see the harddrive structure, allowing him/her to better
plan directories. This feature needs the DOS file
TREE.COM to be in the PATH.
9) ZIP File(s)
Allows the ZIPPING of files for downloading, such as
user files etc., by the remote SysOp. This feature
needs Phil Katz's PKZIP in the path.
10) Help
Simply displays the HELP.TXT file to the user...
11) Quit to MAIN
Returns you to the MAIN menu
12) Extended DOS Commands
This feature was added to allow the UNZIPPING of files,
WARNING this feature has NO ERRORCHECKING, anything and
everything typed at this prompt is sent to DOS. Be very
careful using this one. It could cause trouble with
your BBS. This feature is PASSWORD protected and only
a person with the password can access it. If you do
not wish to use this feature DELETE the file
PASSWORD.DAT, which will make this feature unuseable.
This feature requires that PKUNZIP be in your path to
unzip files.
